Northeast Regional Wrap-Up


After losing to Boston University four times during the season, the Boston College Eagles defeated the Terriers for a second time in a game in which they dominated play.

After a 5-0 win on Friday night, Jerry York went to 8-0 in first round games at BC. The next night was no different.

Goaltneder Cory Schneider (pictured above) was the first goalteneder to have consecutive shutouts in the history of the NCAA tournament. Brian Elliott became the second goaltender to do that the next day.

After a 9-2 win over Nebraska-Omaha, Boston University was coming into the game looking for their first Frozen Four apperance since 1997.

They got denied however, BC shutout BU 5-0 thanks to great goaltending from Cory Schneider and two short-handed goals by Joe Rooney. The Eagles dominated play the entire game and outshot BU for the first time all season 31-28. BC will play North Dakota in semi-final #1 in a week from today Thursday, April 6 at 3 p.m. ET in Milwaukee. The other semi-final game will be between the Maine Black Bears and the Wisconsin Badgers at 8 p.m. ET.
