#1 Colorado College has held the top spot for the second straight week. The Tigers are loaded with offense as the deadly foward duo of Brett Sterling and last years Hobey Baker award winner Marty Sertich are leading the team in scoring once again. This week will be one of the toughest weeks for the Tigers as they travel to Wisconsin for a 2 game series (Note it is not a home and home series as I said last week).
Wisconsin is also making some noise moving up four spots from #9 last week to #5 this week after sweeping North Dakota. Wisconsin has scored 22 goals in its last 5 games, and have only giving up 6 goals during that span. Brian Elliott has been playing superb in net posting a 6-1-1 record with a 1.48 goals against average. Robbie Earl is leading the Badgers in scoring again this season as he has 12 points. (4 goals, 8 assists)
The Badgers will need their D again in order to stop Colorado College's powerful offense. Will the #1 team in the country the Colorado College Tigers be too much for the Badgers? Or will Brian Elliott and the Wisconsin Defense find a way to stop this high powered Colorado College Offense? It should be a great series.
In other College Hockey action this weekend.
Vermont will look to avenge last weeks loss to Boston University as they face Providence on Friday and Boston College on Sunday (both games at Vermont).
Colgate also has two key games as they travel to Dartmouth on Friday and also making a stop at Harvard on Saturday. Can the Raiders prove that they belong in the top of the ECACHL?
UNH and Maine renew their rivalry on Saturday night in Durham, before they do that the Wildcats of New Hampshire will travel to Agganis Arena to face BU, while the Black Bears will go to UMASS-Lowell. (both the BU-UNH and Maine-UML game are tommorrow night)
And Michigan and Northern Michigan will battle it out for 2 games at NMU.
