ECACHL Media Day

The ECACHL held its annual Media Day today in Albany, New York. The polls happen to be surprising to me and others as well.

As I have it in bracketology, Harvard and Dartmouth are the two teams in the brackets with Harvard getting the automatic bid. That will not change come Sunday when the final bracketology of the pre-season comes out.

In the coaches poll everything seems confusing. The first place team, Colgate, had only three first place votes. Clarkson had the most first place votes with five first place votes in the coaches poll, however they are tied with Harvard for second with 101 points overall. Colgate with 108 points. And Dartmouth you ask? They are picked tied for fourth with Cornell who both recieved 95 points.

The pre-season All-ECACHL team was not a surprise however. Goaltender Mark Dekanich of Colgate, and Defensemen Reid Cashman of Quinnipiac were the two unanimous selections.

The media poll has a little more sense to it. Colgate is the clear favorite with 11 first place votes. And the Media poll has basically the same pre-season team except for one, Dylan Reese, Defensemen from Harvard.
