59 Teams in 59 Days Holy Cross

The 59 Teams in 59 Days tour continues with a trip to Worcester, Massachusetts where the Holy Cross Crusaders are featured.

Earlier this off-season head coach Paul Pearl got himself a contract extension. Some of that was due to Holy Cross' amazing upset over the top seed in the region (and the number two team in the NCAA tournament) Minnesota. Even though the Crusaders lost to North Dakota in the regional finals, Pearl and his team made headlines throughout the college hockey world.

This years team will look to repeat their performance from last year. However, the Crusaders will have to do it without some key players from last year including the conferences leading scorer in Tyler McGregor, The leading assist man on the team in Pierre Napert-Frenette, and all Atlantic Hockey goaltender Tony Quesada.

So who will replace these all league performers? James Sixsmith was the third leading scorer on the team last year, so expect another solid season from him.

Replacing Quesada will be tough. But whoever the goalie may be, whether its Sophomore Charlie Lockwood, or whether it will be an upcoming Freshman this year such as Tyler Chestnut and Ian Dams, they will have five returning defensemen from last years squad.

Overall the Crusaders look solid and might be able to make another apperance in the NCAA's as they should be one of the favorites to win Atlantic Hockey.

The ceiling for Holy Cross is first in Atlantic Hockey, while the gutter is fourth.

Tommorrow we will travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan where the Lake Superior Lakers will be featured as the 59 Teams in 59 Days tour will hit day number 24.
