59 Teams in 59 Days Army

The 59 Teams in 59 Days tour continues in West Point where the Army Black Knights are featured.

Lately it seems like Army is unpredictable. A five win improvement last year for head coach Brian Riley and the Black Knights. A good improvement from a seven win season two years ago, and it appears that Army could be on the way up in Atlantic Hockey.

Riley is entering his third season and he has some talent coming back including three of their four leading scorers in Junior Forward Luke Flicek (the teams leading scorer), Sophmore Defensmen Tim Manthey, and Junior Defensmen Chase Podisad.

The goaltending situation is a question mark for the Black Knights. For now two sophmores (Josh Kassel, and A.J. Drago) will battle it out to fill the shoes of Brad Roberts. Neither Kassel, nor Drago started a game last season.

The predicted ceiling for Army is fifth in Atlantic Hockey, the predicted gutter is ninth.

Tommorrow the two time defending CHA conference tournament champions, the Bemidji State Beavers will be featured.
