Paul Pearl gets contract extension at Holy Cross


Holy Cross head coach Paul Pearl has just recently signed a contract three year extension to stay with the Crusaders through the 2008-2009 season.

Pearl concluded his 11th season as head coach with a 27-10-2 record which included the biggest upset in NCAA tournament history as Holy Cross defeated Minnesota last month. It was the Crusaders first ever win in the NCAA tournament and finished 14th in the nation, their highest ever ranking.

Pearl's record behind the bench with Holy Cross is 181-148-31 with two NCAA apperances, and three Atlantic Hockey Championships in 1999 (which was the now defunct MAAC conference), 2004, and 2006.

Also signing a contract extension was Michigan's Red Berenson also signed a contract extension this weekend. Details will be updated on hockeynuts when the terms of his contract is announced.
